Responsibilities
- Define and drive UX Engineering strategy across the software portfolio.
- Architect, develop, and maintain reusable frontend frameworks, components, and enterprise design system assets using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and Angular Material.
- Lead Design System and Storybook governance, including component architecture, design tokens, theming, accessibility, interaction patterns, and branding.
- Establish frontend engineering standards covering documentation, API consistency, component lifecycles, architecture reviews, versioning, releases, and dependencies.
- Drive automated testing, visual regression testing, accessibility validation, usability verification, and continuous quality monitoring.
- Partner with Human Factors Engineering, Product Management, Architects, Technical Leads, and Scrum teams to convert user insights into reusable UX solutions and development standards.
- Define frontend technology strategies, roadmaps, and long-term platform direction.
- Monitor design system adoption, platform health, and usage metrics while conducting architecture, design, and implementation reviews.
- Mentor and coach frontend engineers and UX practitioners and ensure compliance with QMS, regulatory, and accessibility requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, frontend development, UX Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated leadership of frontend engineering initiatives across multiple products, teams, or platforms.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and governing enterprise-scale design systems and reusable component libraries.
- Strong expertise with Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and Angular Material, plus hands-on Storybook or similar design system platform experience.
- Understanding of frontend architecture, component-based design, state management, performance optimization, and modern web application development.
- Experience establishing scalable frontend engineering standards and best practices.
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows, source control, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum software development environments.
- Ability to influence technical direction and collaborate across Product Management, UX, Human Factors Engineering, Architecture, and Software Development teams.
- Willingness and ability to commute or travel onsite when needed.
- Preferred qualifications include regulated-industry software experience, accessibility and WCAG knowledge, design token and design-to-development workflow experience, modern frontend testing experience, platform or developer enablement experience, and familiarity with AI-assisted development and UX tools.
