Base Salary

$150k - $200k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Python backend services and REST APIs for compliance workflows, document management, authentication, and user-facing features.
  • Implement database models, queries, migrations, and data-access patterns across SQLite, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server using SQLAlchemy and Alembic.
  • Build React and TypeScript frontend features including forms, validation, routing, document editing, API integration, and reusable components.
  • Write and maintain automated backend pytest tests and frontend Playwright end-to-end tests.
  • Maintain CI/CD build, test, lint, and publish pipelines using GitHub Actions, npm, uv, and Docker.
  • Support Azure deployment workflows using Bicep and PowerShell for tenant-based application infrastructure.
  • Debug full-stack issues involving APIs, databases, frontend state, browser behavior, authentication, and deployment configuration.
  • Collaborate through GitHub pull requests, code reviews, issue discussions, and iterative feature development.
  • Learn and apply OSCAL and compliance terminology to model data and deliver application features.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional software development experience or equivalent demonstrated ability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required; Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong Python backend development experience and experience with FastAPI or a similar modern Python web framework.
  • Experience with Pydantic or similar data validation and modeling libraries, SQLAlchemy, relational database applications, and SQL-aware application code.
  • Strong React and TypeScript experience, including production-style forms, validation, routing, API integration, and reusable components.
  • Experience with Node.js, npm, Vite or comparable frontend build tooling.
  • Experience writing automated backend and/or frontend tests.
  • Familiarity with Git, GitHub pull requests, code review, branching, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Ability to troubleshoot across multiple application layers and clearly explain technical decisions.
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL, managed identities, Static Web Apps, Infrastructure as Code, Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Docker, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Playwright, pytest, Ruff, Pyright, ESLint, Prettier, and Material UI.
  • Preferred familiarity with JSON Schema, structured document models, OSCAL, NIST 800-series guidance, RMF, FedRAMP, security/compliance automation, and regulated or government enterprise SaaS environments.
  • Nice-to-have experience with governance, risk, compliance, cybersecurity, audit teams, security controls, compliance evidence, and authorization package workflows.
