Responsibilities
- Build and evolve features for the Cards API supporting programmatic digital and physical card issuance.
- Solve partner challenges involving onboarding, liquidity, fraud prevention, and card analytics.
- Design and build resilient, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested systems.
- Own projects end to end from problem discovery and solution design through delivery, rollout, measurement, and roadmap planning.
- Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and engineers to determine what to build and how to build it.
- Maintain system availability, reliability, security, observability, and technical debt management.
- Own technical roadmaps and project deliverables while communicating complex concepts across functions.
Requirements
- Strong experience building microservices, event-driven architectures, relational databases, and well-designed APIs.
- Ability to design and build resilient and scalable systems.
- Strong product mindset with a focus on customer and partner outcomes.
- Experience taking end-to-end ownership of impactful engineering projects.
- Self-starting, collaborative, and adaptable communication style.
- Preferred experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
- Preferred experience building a finance API.
- Preferred experience in the card payments domain as an issuer or acquirer.
