Responsibilities
- Build and deliver Cards API features addressing partner needs such as onboarding, liquidity optimization, fraud prevention, and card analytics.
- Design and develop resilient and scalable microservices, event-driven architectures, relational database systems, and APIs.
- Own projects end to end from problem discovery and solution shaping through delivery, rollout, measurement, and roadmap planning.
- Maintain well-tested software, effective observability, predictable delivery, and proactive technical debt management.
- Take accountability for the availability, reliability, and security of the systems built by the engineer and team.
- Collaborate with product managers, analysts, engineers, and other functions to define technical roadmaps and deliver practical solutions.
Requirements
- Strong experience building microservices, event-driven architectures, relational databases, and well-designed APIs.
- Ability to design and build resilient, scalable systems.
- Commitment to maintainable and well-tested software, observability, predictable delivery, and technical debt management.
- Strong product mindset with focus on customer outcomes and simple, well-documented partner-facing APIs.
- Ability to independently own technical roadmaps and deliverables while communicating complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka is preferred.
- Experience building a finance API is preferred.
- Experience in the card payments domain as an issuer or acquirer is preferred.
