Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Bose audio algorithms in Android audio subsystems for audio capture, playback, mixing, and routing.
- Maintain and extend Android audio service frameworks to support product features and customer requirements.
- Evaluate and implement audio features while ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Work with AudioFlinger, AudioPolicyManager, AudioService, Audio HAL, and the Audio Effects Framework.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving distortion, latency, synchronization, routing, power management, and system stability.
- Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans.
- Engage with customers, technology partners, and platform vendors throughout development, integration, and commercialization.
- Contribute to Android audio integration and system-level performance tuning across hardware and software platforms.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of industry experience in Android audio framework development, embedded audio software development, or related audio system engineering.
- Strong understanding of Android audio framework architecture and experience with Android audio components, routing, volume management, device management, and audio stream policies.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ with software design and debugging skills.
- Experience developing and debugging Linux-based embedded software systems.
- Familiarity with ALSA audio drivers and Linux audio subsystem architecture.
- Experience integrating microphones, speakers, codecs, amplifiers, and audio interfaces.
- Knowledge of digital signal processing, audio codecs, audio capture and playback, mixing, and audio pipeline design.
- Ability to perform root-cause analysis and resolve complex system-level issues.
- Experience delivering commercial audio products from development through production deployment.
- Experience with Qualcomm and/or MediaTek mobile platforms is strongly preferred.
- Preferred experience includes audio algorithm integration and optimization, Qualcomm ADSP, Hexagon DSP, MediaTek DSP, speech processing, noise reduction, voice enhancement, audio effects, automotive audio, consumer electronics, Bluetooth audio, and direct customer or platform-vendor collaboration.
- Strong communication, collaboration, independent execution, and cross-functional technical problem-solving skills.
