Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain backend services in native PHP.
- Build and optimize high-volume transaction and billing workflows.
- Develop and maintain REST/SOAP APIs for integrations.
- Work with relational databases for schema design and performance tuning.
- Integrate with external systems and gateways.
- Implement asynchronous processing using message queues and caching layers.
- Ensure application security and observability in a high-availability context.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and code reviews.
- Collaborate with product, ops, and QA teams to improve services.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of experience in backend development with native PHP.
- Expert-level knowledge of PHP (7/8) and solid OOP principles.
- Proven experience with high-throughput, transactional backend systems.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL.
- Experience designing and consuming REST/SOAP APIs.
- Comfortable working in Linux environments and using Git.
- Familiarity with message queues and caching technologies.
- Good understanding of application security in financial contexts.
- Fluent in English and able to work autonomously across timezones.
