Base Salary
$125k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build scalable incremental and watermark-based ingestion from APIs, files, and databases.
- Develop typed data contracts and discoverable canonical datasets from raw source data.
- Design and maintain lakehouse schema management and code generation workflows across tenants.
- Build data security controls including query scoping, ACLs, and tenant isolation.
- Implement batch processing and event-driven accounting workflows with clear operational failure reporting.
- Improve data correctness, observability, ingestion health, re-ingestion, auditability, and traceability to raw events.
- Develop scalable query patterns and materializations for financial reporting.
- Collaborate with accounting module engineers, reporting teams, and AI agent teams to shape data interfaces.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful work on data-intensive systems.
- Experience building or operating production data pipelines, lakehouses, or warehouses, with knowledge of ETLs, idempotency, watermarks, and backfills.
- Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of columnar stores, partitioning, and query performance.
- Experience with a modern transformation or orchestration stack such as SQLMesh, dbt, Dagster, or Airflow.
- Strong general-purpose programming skills, especially TypeScript, with Python experience.
- Preferred experience with ClickHouse, Iceberg, or Athena.
- Preferred experience with multi-tenant data isolation, PII handling, SOC 2 or audit-driven controls.
- Prior financial or accounting data experience is preferred.
- Experience with Temporal or Inngest is preferred.
