Base Salary
$191k - $239k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build network automation and orchestration systems for reliable global network deployment and operation.
- Develop software for network provisioning, configuration management, device lifecycle management, validation, monitoring, and automated remediation.
- Build systems integrating DPUs, SmartNICs, and programmable network infrastructure.
- Automate large-scale datacenter and Point of Presence deployments involving new hardware, network fabrics, routing infrastructure, and vendor integrations.
- Create abstractions across network vendors and hardware implementations while maintaining operational safety and reliability.
- Build diagnostic tools and automate repetitive infrastructure workflows.
- Establish technical direction, software architecture, engineering standards, and operational best practices.
- Lead high-impact projects from technical design through implementation, deployment, and long-term operation.
- Write RFCs, architecture documents, technical proposals, project plans, and other documentation.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Significant experience designing and building production software systems at scale.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems, API design, concurrency, testing, observability, and reliability.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of Go, Python, or C++.
- Experience building automation, orchestration, or infrastructure platforms.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, VLANs, routing, switching, and network telemetry.
- Experience with network devices, network automation frameworks, APIs, or vendor SDKs.
- Experience designing systems that operate safely in highly available production environments.
- Strong technical writing, communication, architectural judgment, and cross-team influence skills.
- Experience with DPUs, SmartNICs, IPUs, programmable data planes, eBPF, P4, or hardware-accelerated networking is valuable.
- Nice-to-have experience includes hyperscale or cloud infrastructure, SONiC, white-box networking, 400G+ datacenter networks, OpenConfig, gNMI, NETCONF, YANG, streaming telemetry, Kubernetes, open-source infrastructure, and automated network validation or remediation.
