Responsibilities
- Develop high-level and low-level software requirements.
- Perform embedded software development, software architecture, coding, integration, system testing, verification, and validation.
- Develop software in C++ and VC++ for safety-critical embedded systems.
- Investigate issues and debug software on real target hardware.
- Define product scope and features and contribute to product certification.
- Lead technical development activities and act as a primary technical authority and program team leader.
- Support proposals, value engineering, process changes, customer support, business growth, and innovation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on new technologies, ideas, and information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience in C++ for avionics or other safety-critical systems.
- 5+ years of experience with software requirements and design for integrated platforms.
- Experience with DO-178C Level B and C standards or equivalent industry standards.
- Experience with low-level hardware drivers and real-time operating system integration.
- Knowledge of Ethernet, A429, RS-232, and A615A data-loading interfaces.
- Analytical and debugging skills with real target hardware; hands-on experience is advantageous.
- Preferred experience with avionics product lines, DO-178B/C processes, DOORS, JIRA, Bitbucket, Git, RTOS, software configuration management, and change management.
- Experience leading the technical development of junior engineers is valued.
- Experience with AI initiatives or Model Based Systems Engineering is an advantage.
- Strong communication, collaboration, creativity, and analytical skills.
