Base Salary
$156k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy for reliability, infrastructure, and platform tooling in partnership with SRE and engineering leadership.
- Design and build complex, cross-cutting infrastructure systems and lead architecture reviews.
- Establish SLI, SLO, and error-budget practices and improve monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-mortems.
- Lead capacity planning, disaster recovery, failure-mode testing, and reliability improvements for production systems.
- Design and operate AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure using Terraform, ArgoCD, and Atlantis.
- Build governed AI gateways for model routing, access controls, audit trails, and secure data connectors.
- Drive infrastructure security, compliance, PII guardrails, scoped data access, and automated scanning.
- Lead cloud cost optimization, usage metering, LLM token budgeting, and cost-aware model routing.
- Build internal tools, CI/CD pipelines, and self-service platforms while eliminating engineering toil.
- Mentor SREs, influence product engineering teams, participate in hiring, and submit code changes to product codebases.
Requirements
- 10+ years of full-time software engineering experience in SRE, infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or backend software engineering roles.
- Significant experience operating production systems at scale and leading complex, multi-team infrastructure or reliability initiatives.
- Strong coding skills in Go, Python, or TypeScript.
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, PostgreSQL, CI/CD systems, and observability tooling such as DataDog.
- Hands-on experience implementing SLIs and SLOs, leading incident response, and running post-mortems.
- Experience building Kubernetes operators is preferred.
- Experience with LLM toolchains, AI gateways, model routing using Bedrock or Anthropic, governance frameworks, PII scanning, or audit trails is preferred.
- Experience leading cloud cost optimization or building usage metering systems is preferred.
- Experience in regulated industries or compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and experience collaborating with globally distributed teams.
