AI Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy generative AI, machine learning, deep learning, neural-network, and optimization solutions.
- Own the machine learning lifecycle, including dataset construction, metrics, acceptance criteria, evaluation strategies, and model monitoring.
- Translate operational and business needs into scalable AI-enabled applications, tools, workflows, and production integrations.
- Define end-to-end solution architectures spanning data sources, enterprise systems, cloud-ready and on-premises environments, and technical platforms.
- Assess data readiness, process structured and unstructured data, and develop predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, forecasting, optimization, and document-analysis solutions.
- Evaluate suppliers, platforms, tools, and external deliverables through technical reviews, benchmarking, proof-of-concepts, code and model reviews, and acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with technical, operational, business, and IT stakeholders; communicate technical concepts and support end-user adoption.
- Evaluate emerging technologies such as edge AI, synthetic data, reinforcement learning, and large language models for industrial applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, applied mathematics, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, software engineering, or a comparable technical role.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages, with experience using development environments such as VS Code.
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow and/or PyTorch, classical machine learning tooling such as scikit-learn, and gradient boosting methods.
- Experience with time-series analysis, optimization methods, data-driven model development, GenAI stacks including RAG and vector databases, and structured and unstructured data.
- Solid knowledge of cloud services and architecture, including Azure and AWS, plus data engineering fundamentals such as SQL and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with MLOps, model deployment, and production integration is advantageous.
- Industrial, technical, or complex operational-environment experience is preferred; knowledge of industrial processes, electrification, power systems, AI governance, the EU AI Act, or GDPR is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, strategic, documentation, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills are required.
