Responsibilities
- Build a clinical design system, component library, and frontend patterns for consistent and efficient clinician-facing interfaces.
- Modernize clinical workflows into fast, keyboard-driven, intuitive user experiences.
- Architect GraphQL data layers, caching, and subscription patterns for instantly updating clinical data.
- Engineer accessible, resilient, and high-performance interfaces that function under degraded networks and high-pressure conditions.
- Transform dense clinical and operational data into clear, glanceable, decision-ready interfaces.
- Define frontend state management and rendering architecture while balancing developer velocity with mission-critical reliability.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience with a deep focus on frontend development.
- Expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, browser internals, rendering performance, state management, and real-time reactive UIs using GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with client-side data loading and management, including caching, freshness, ownership, and push-update optimization.
- Understanding of browser rendering cycles and experience profiling and optimizing responsive, data-dense interfaces.
- Strong knowledge of modern React patterns, functional programming principles, custom hooks, and reusable component architectures at scale.
- Deep fluency with asynchronous JavaScript control flow and experience diagnosing race conditions, ordering issues, and unhandled rejections in real-time systems.
- Comfort adopting tools including Elixir, Erlang, Phoenix, Postgres, and AWS.
- Experience building products from 0 to 1 with strong product sense.
- Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, technical decision-making, and first-principles thinking skills.
- Familiarity with open-source technology and willingness to explore new solutions; healthcare passion is a plus.
