Responsibilities
- Monitor CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and application health dashboards; triage alerts, apply documented fixes, and escalate complex incidents.
- Write, update, and maintain scripts, YAML configurations, and Terraform and Ansible modules for deployment and infrastructure changes.
- Perform smoke testing and validate deployments in development and staging environments, including monitoring, logging, and alert behavior.
- Participate in design sessions and code reviews while developing expertise in Linux, containers, Git, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tools.
- Maintain wikis, runbooks, deployment guides, and troubleshooting documentation to support incident response.
- Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a permanent employee in the title, reachable on the current civil service list, or otherwise meet the stated civil service eligibility requirements.
- Must have at least a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of qualifying IT experience, including 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity.
- Qualifying pathways include a master's degree in computer science with three years of IT experience, a bachelor's degree with four years of IT experience, a high school diploma with six years of IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relevant IT experience includes applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing, or user services.
- Undergraduate or graduate credits may substitute for limited portions of the IT experience requirement, but not for the required 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience.
- Must be able to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including possible overtime, weekends, nights, or evenings.
