Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy AI-assisted developer tools for pull request analysis, CI failure diagnosis, engineering knowledge retrieval, and automated workflow improvement.
- Design and implement load, stress, and scalability testing with Python and Locust for distributed services and AI model endpoints.
- Build safe agent execution frameworks with sandboxing, scoped permissions, confidence thresholds, human approval mechanisms, and handling for uncertain outputs.
- Operate and optimize Kubernetes and containerized cloud workloads, including LLM inference latency, throughput, token generation, and resource utilization.
- Correlate telemetry from Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, and OpenTelemetry to identify bottlenecks and provide architectural recommendations.
- Build and ship internal developer productivity platforms and drive measurable improvements in developer velocity, adoption, and cycle times.
- Integrate developer tools with Git-based source control, pull requests, automated testing, and engineering delivery workflows.
- Define productivity metrics and implement automated performance regression detection, baseline comparisons, and feedback in pull requests and delivery workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field with 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience, or a master’s degree with 7+ years, or a Ph.D. with 4+ years building distributed platforms.
- 5+ years of Python software development experience building and deploying production internal engineering platforms, automation frameworks, or developer productivity tools.
- Experience implementing LLM APIs, AI coding assistants, or autonomous agent workflows in engineering delivery pipelines.
- Experience with performance engineering, load testing, and workload modeling for distributed systems using Locust or an equivalent framework.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containerized cloud environments, observability platforms, and distributed tracing.
- Experience integrating developer tools and automation workflows with Git-based source control, APIs, and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience using AI coding assistants and LLM-powered development tools while ensuring generated-code correctness, maintainability, and security.
- Preferred experience with multi-agent orchestration, tool calling, Model Context Protocol, vector-based engineering knowledge retrieval, and internal tooling adoption.
- Preferred experience defining developer productivity metrics and benchmarking LLM inference endpoints across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred familiarity with Playwright, Lighthouse, and OpenTelemetry distributed tracing standards.
- Preferred experience designing AI-agent workflows for accuracy, reliability, cost, latency, and safe execution, including tool-use guardrails and human approvals.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, mentorship, communication, and ability to translate telemetry into engineering roadmaps.
