Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, efficient, and robust backend systems for Zoox’s ride-hailing service.
- Own core functionality including payments, fleet dispatch, and service management.
- Contribute significantly to technical roadmaps and development plans and execute them effectively.
- Demonstrate engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, software testing, and documentation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of cloud software experience.
- Experience running and optimizing production-grade systems for efficiency and resilience.
- Extensive experience designing, implementing, and operating backend microservices.
- Proficiency with Kotlin or Java, REST APIs, and SQL.
- Experience running production services with cloud infrastructure such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Bonus: experience with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, event-driven architecture, and Kafka.
- Experience in transportation, robotics, logistics, or autonomous vehicles is a bonus.
