Senior Software Engineer-International Mid-Market
Toast, Inc.Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performing, flexible, and scalable solutions for restaurant operations.
- Deliver features end-to-end from design through rollout, monitoring results and iterating based on real-world use.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor less experienced engineers through design reviews and constructive feedback.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and help pioneer new engineering workflows.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience delivering impactful products.
- Ability to read and integrate with frontend applications and work across the stack when needed.
- Strong software development fundamentals, including code quality, unit testing, and clean code.
- Interest in AI-assisted development and LLM-based agents such as Claude Code.
- Ability to work through ambiguity, ship software incrementally, and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset, curiosity, adaptability, and interest in growing toward broader ownership.
