Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot SAS 9 middle-tier platforms, services, and SAS 9.4 solutions.
- Resolve customer, functionality, security, and performance issues across multiple SAS 9 foundation products and services.
- Plan and design application work and take responsibility for significant portions of the application.
- Collaborate with customers and technical support to resolve complex issues.
- Participate in daily operations and activities required to meet schedules and address complex problems.
- Follow applicable security policies and processes supporting secure software development.
- Mentor junior team members and help resolve technical challenges.
- Develop and maintain mid-tier services and REST APIs.
- Perform unit, regression, and integration testing and work with large legacy codebases.
Requirements
- 6–14 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent programming skills in Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
- Experience with database-centric applications and SQL, including PostgreSQL and Oracle.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Understanding of build tools such as Ant and Maven.
- Knowledge of security concepts and tools including Snyk and Black Duck.
- Knowledge of enterprise security applications including IBM Virtual Identity Access (IVIA), WebSeal, SiteMinder, and Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA).
- Familiarity with FIPS, TLS, certificates, and private key infrastructure.
- Experience with unit, regression, and integration testing.
- Experience with JavaServer Pages (JSP), JavaScript, Apache HTTP Server, and Tomcat is beneficial or relevant to the role.
- Experience developing mid-tier services and REST APIs within the Java ecosystem.
- Comfort working with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong debugging, logical problem-solving, learning, and self-directed technical development capabilities.
- Experience working with large legacy codebases.
- Familiarity with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
