Base Salary

$165k - $231k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop C++ software for 2D/3D path and geometry generation that drives machine motion and produces target part geometry.
  • Design, build, and integrate motion-control systems for custom metal 3D-printer machines, including electromechanical components, wiring, and software control.
  • Develop machine-level and facility-level software for real-time motion, sensing, actuation, workflow orchestration, and data routing.
  • Architect and implement embedded software for deterministic data acquisition and control hardware.
  • Build automated manufacturing data integrations and workflows for engineering and facility operations teams.
  • Own technical architecture and roadmap initiatives that improve manufacturing reliability, efficiency, and automation.
  • Identify and close manufacturing-data gaps to improve engineering and operational decisions.
  • Conduct code and architecture reviews while maintaining code quality and documentation.
  • Plan and implement unit and integration tests and maintain manufacturing-software CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience developing C++ software, ideally involving motion control, robotics, CNC, or additive manufacturing systems.
  • Experience designing or integrating motion-control hardware such as servo or stepper drives, motion controllers, and encoders.
  • Experience programming data-acquisition and control systems and interfacing with industrial hardware such as PLCs or NI hardware.
  • Systems-level ability to bridge mechanical and electrical hardware design with software architecture.
  • Strong collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary, multi-developer environment.
  • Preferred: 8+ years of experience in aerospace, robotics, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Preferred: experience with toolpath and trajectory generation, custom machine development and commissioning, metal additive manufacturing, Python or LabVIEW, AI/LLM integration into engineering workflows, and CAD/CAM software integration.
