Responsibilities
- Own the target-state architecture for core systems, APIs and integration, cloud and platform services, and the data platform.
- Define and maintain architecture principles, reference architectures, design patterns, and technology standards.
- Act as design authority for major initiatives by reviewing designs, integration contracts, and technology choices.
- Lead solution architecture for cross-pillar and enterprise-critical initiatives with scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective designs.
- Own the enterprise data model, data contracts, and shared-responsibility boundaries between data and solution platforms.
- Ensure performance, availability, disaster recovery, observability, and other non-functional requirements are designed into solutions.
- Lead proof-of-concepts and technical validation of emerging technologies.
- Shape the multi-year modernization and simplification roadmap and identify technical debt and architectural risk.
- Ensure architecture meets internal standards and financial-services regulatory requirements, including SDLC and MAS TRM obligations.
- Maintain architecture artifacts and decision records for audit, risk, and governance forums.
- Advise on build-versus-buy decisions and platform selection.
- Lead and develop the Singapore solution and data architecture team and communicate architecture decisions, trade-offs, and risks to executive audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- At least 15 years in technology roles, including at least 7 years in solution, data, or enterprise architecture at scale.
- Experience in insurance or financial services, including core policy administration and distribution platforms.
- Proven experience serving as design authority for large, complex, multi-platform environments with measurable modernization outcomes.
- Deep expertise across cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, and experience with microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns.
- Strong data architecture capability, including data platform design, enterprise data modeling, and governed data products.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and semantic or metrics-layer design.
- Exposure to AI and GenAI reference architectures, AI governance, and secure non-production data practices.
- Understanding of security architecture, resilience, disaster recovery design, and regulatory compliance in financial services.
- Experience operating in a dual-shore or vendor-supported delivery model and setting delivery guardrails.
- TOGAF, cloud architect, or equivalent professional certification.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and executive-level communication skills.
