Responsibilities
- Embed within customer engineering teams and understand their business processes, technical architecture, and operational constraints.
- Translate customer requirements into technical designs for AI-enabled production systems.
- Design and develop production-grade software for AI and agentic workflows, including retrieval pipelines, workflow automation, API orchestration, and data integration.
- Integrate foundation models, customer data sources, and existing applications into cohesive AI experiences while optimizing latency, reliability, and cost.
- Own the full software lifecycle for assigned workstreams, including scoping, design, coding, testing, deployment, operations, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot production incidents across AI models, distributed systems, and application services and resolve root causes.
- Implement monitoring, evaluations, guardrails, and CI/CD practices that maintain healthy AI systems.
- Mentor and train new team members and provide meaningful code-review feedback.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer AI adoption and create reusable patterns and accelerators for future deployments.
- Travel 30–50%.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with agentic and spec-driven development; experience developing AI agents is a plus.
- Experience with AI tools, evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred: 3+ years across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience in customer production environments and building or deploying AI/ML applications in production.
- Preferred: founder, engineering lead, or startup-builder background with high ownership and urgency.
- Preferred: experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go.
- Preferred: experience interfacing with customers or leading technical projects with external stakeholders.
- Preferred: experience with teams that build and scale end-to-end production systems and with AWS services.
