Base Salary
$111k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build React and TypeScript frontends, Python services, and integrations with instruments, Benchling, and agent runtimes.
- Own features end to end, including scientist discovery, data models, user interfaces, and operational alerts.
- Prototype and evaluate agentic tooling with real users through short iterative development cycles.
- Collaborate with machine learning, automation, and biology teams to build useful laboratory tools.
- Observe laboratory workflows and design systems with provenance and human verifiability.
- Write code and design documents, participate in code reviews, and communicate with users and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- 2–4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of AWS or GCP, relational databases, version control, and code review.
- Product-oriented judgment, curiosity about scientific domains, and comfort balancing quality and speed.
- Preferred experience with LIMS, lab automation, or another life sciences domain.
- Preferred experience building with LLMs or agent frameworks, including tool design, skill design, evaluation, or reliability against real systems.
- Preferred familiarity with Django, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Docker, or AWS.
