Base Salary
$135k - $216k/yr
Responsibilities
- Perform requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, testing, validation, and issue diagnosis/resolution.
- Develop cloud software and AI/ML capabilities hosted on large-scale compute clusters and AWS Cloud infrastructure.
- Build distributed systems and services using Java, cloud SDKs and APIs, RESTful services, containers, and orchestration technologies.
- Develop and integrate analytics, data-processing solutions, FOSS/COTS products, and highly distributed NoSQL systems.
- Create and implement software test plans and test scripts, and support software integration and validation.
- Produce technical documentation for software development projects.
Requirements
- Five or more years of directly related software development or engineering experience.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field is highly desired and may be considered equivalent to two years of experience.
- At least four years of software development experience using high-level languages such as Java, C, or C++.
- At least three years of software development experience on UNIX/Linux operating systems and at least three years of software integration and testing experience.
- Experience with distributed NoSQL products, MapReduce, Hadoop, HDFS, JSON and/or BSON serialization, RESTful services, object-oriented system design, and FOSS/COTS integration.
- Experience or coursework in at least two desired areas, such as cloud deployment, big-data scalability, automated analytics, taxonomies, event-driven or data-driven analytics, linguistics, social-network analytics, ontologies, data models, schemas, or heterogeneous schema environments.
- An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Must hold or obtain before starting one qualifying certification: AWS Certified Developer-Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning-Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning-Specialty, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer.
- Desired qualifications include AWS architecture, AWS SDKs and APIs, CloudFormation or Terraform, LLMs, Agentic AI, RAG, observability tools, Java distributed systems, Linux scripting, Kubernetes, and cloud security and compliance knowledge.
