
Senior Mission Software Engineer
Anduril IndustriesResponsibilities
- Own feature development and customer-deployed software solutions, leading complex cross-cutting technical efforts from concept to deployment.
- Write code that improves products and scales mission capabilities to additional customers.
- Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
- Create and analyze metrics for debugging and monitoring.
- Triage issues, determine root causes of failures, and coordinate next steps.
- Collaborate with vehicle hardware teams and operational subject matter experts to define requirements and iterate product designs.
- Develop and maintain core libraries and services for collaborative robot teams, including motion deconfliction and contingency management for fast-mover air vehicles.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance through code reviews and design leadership.
- Travel up to 20% of the time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in real-world environments.
Requirements
- Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- At least 5 years of professional industry experience working with C++ or Rust.
- Experience building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis.
- Track record of leading technical projects and delivering complex software systems to production.
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established codebases.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active UKSV Security Clearance.
- Preferred: background in Physics, Mathematics, or Motion Planning for modeling and simulation and physical systems.
- Preferred: experience developing, testing, and deploying multi-agent autonomous systems in real-world environments.
- Preferred: experience with feature and algorithm development and behavior trees.
- Preferred: experience developing software or hardware for flight systems and safety-critical functionality.
- Preferred: experience with distributed communication networks and message standards.
- Preferred: knowledge of military systems and operational tactics.
