Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable Java applications using JDK 17+ and Spring Boot 3+.
- Build secure REST APIs and distributed microservices using mutual TLS for service-to-service communication.
- Configure and troubleshoot certificates, keystores, truststores, TLS handshakes, and certificate lifecycle issues.
- Create automated unit and integration tests and contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable corrective actions.
- Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, architecture discussions, and collaboration with architects, product owners, security teams, QA engineers, and technology partners.
- Ensure solutions meet security, performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational support requirements.
- Produce technical documentation and share knowledge across the engineering team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in modern Java development, including concurrency, collections, exception handling, and JVM fundamentals.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot 3+ and the Spring Framework.
- Hands-on experience with mutual TLS, keystores, truststores, certificate chains, certificate rotation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience designing, implementing, documenting, and supporting RESTful APIs and distributed microservices.
- Experience with Spring Security, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, dependency injection, and configuration management.
- Strong understanding of secure coding, authentication, authorization, encryption in transit, and secrets management.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, including SQL development and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience developing unit and integration tests with JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Boot testing capabilities.
- Proficiency with Git-based source control, branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and production support skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Preferred experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API gateways, API-security controls, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, CI/CD platforms, observability tools, performance tuning, vulnerability remediation, DevSecOps, or banking and financial services.
