Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services.
- Maintain and improve existing codebases, conduct peer reviews, and participate in architecture and code reviews.
- Identify quality issues and patterns, develop standard operating procedures, and recommend application improvements.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs.
- Investigate and apply relevant technologies, including AI-native engineering practices and automation.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead or participate in projects, mentor less experienced developers, and make independent technical decisions.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in Java full-stack development and 15 years of full-time education.
- At least 10 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- At least 12 years of experience with Java Enterprise Edition.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented with Java.
- At least 10 years of experience developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions for large business environments.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, and Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools, shell scripting, cloud or AI modernization initiatives, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to operate across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation while leading cross-functional work.
