Responsibilities
- Analyze automated test results from regular JetBrains Runtime builds and investigate Java runtime and test failures.
- Investigate and accurately triage user-reported runtime issues.
- Analyze thread dumps and JVM crash logs to identify deadlocks, freezes, and Event Dispatch Thread responsiveness issues.
- Collaborate with developers to understand runtime architecture and ongoing changes.
- Work with support teams to reproduce and resolve issues reported in public builds.
- Own JetBrains Runtime quality by identifying needed fixes, organizing the issue tracker, and prioritizing quality tasks.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of Java, AWT, Swing, and Java2D.
- Hands-on experience analyzing thread dumps, JVM crash logs, or memory issues with standard JDK diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and understand tests using frameworks such as jtreg, JUnit, gtest, or ctest.
- Experience reproducing complex technical issues and using YouTrack, Jira, or GitHub.
- Familiarity with macOS and Linux environments.
- Strong focus on quality and deep technical investigation.
- Clear communication skills, sound judgment, and willingness to advocate for technical perspectives while remaining open to others.
- Ownership mindset and curiosity about underlying systems and application architecture.
