Responsibilities
- Evolve TeamCity’s automated testing platform, including frameworks, infrastructure, reporting, and release automation.
- Build tools and automation that remove manual engineering work and improve developer experience.
- Integrate AI into testing workflows for test generation, failure triage, and self-healing tests with appropriate guardrails.
- Partner with product teams to help them write, review, and own high-quality tests.
- Investigate and resolve test and product-code failures and flakiness.
- Set technical direction and standards for quality while mentoring colleagues and sharing knowledge across teams.
- Participate throughout product development from design through release and interact with internal and external users.
Requirements
- Advanced skills in Kotlin or Java with a strong understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation for complex, mission-critical backends, web services, or desktop applications.
- Proficiency with TestNG or JUnit and browser automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Selenide, or Playwright.
- Experience with Gradle or Maven, Docker or Podman, and reporting tools such as Allure.
- Strong command of Git, software testing principles, and concurrent programming concepts.
- A proven track record of creating internal platform tools or developer-experience improvements that measurably improve engineering workflows.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Strong architectural judgment, clean coding practices, independent problem-solving ability, clear communication, and an interest in mentoring and technical leadership.
