Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and processes to identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and technology-enabled improvement.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions and select appropriate technologies or combinations of technologies.
- Design and develop applications, automations, integrations, workflows, and enhancements.
- Analyze system integrations and how applications exchange information through APIs, data, and workflows.
- Perform unit, component, and integration testing and participate in code reviews and production deployments.
- Support existing applications and automation solutions through enhancements, troubleshooting, break/fix activities, and incident resolution.
- Support application and automation health, reliability, performance, monitoring, and continuous improvement in production.
- Communicate solution designs, technical requirements, risks, dependencies, and status to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to project planning, estimation, timelines, governance, risk management, and delivery activities.
- Continuously develop knowledge of software engineering, automation, AI, and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Approximately 1–3 years of experience in software engineering, application development, automation, or a related technology discipline.
- Undergraduate degree or technical certificate.
- Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, including code structure, reusable components, testing, error handling, and maintainability.
- Experience with at least one programming or development language and willingness to learn additional technologies.
- Understanding of data structures, data manipulation, common data formats, and application integrations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language and work with business and technology stakeholders.
- Interest in process optimization, automation, AI, and emerging software-development technologies.
- Ability to evaluate different technical approaches and work across a broad range of technologies.
- Experience in financial services or another regulated environment is beneficial but not essential.
