Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize reliable embedded flight software for Star Tracker hardware, from device drivers and real-time control loops to autonomous behaviors and fault management.
- Architect fault-tolerant and redundant software with health monitoring and autonomous recovery across a satellite constellation.
- Build test, validation, and simulation infrastructure, including hardware-in-the-loop testbeds, software-in-the-loop virtualization, and automated regression suites.
- Own embedded software delivery from requirements decomposition and architecture through implementation, code review, integration, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, communications, manufacturing, and operations engineers to integrate, test, and deploy optical communication systems.
- Develop autonomous operational behaviors that enable satellites to recover and adapt to anomalies.
- Improve deployment and over-the-air update processes for safely delivering software to satellites in orbit.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience with embedded development in C/C++.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: experience developing in a Linux embedded environment.
