Base Salary
$155k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Shape the technical direction of the Web Experience platform, including full-stack systems, shared patterns, and AI-powered product experiences.
- Design and build end-to-end features spanning customer-facing web experiences, backend services, and supporting infrastructure.
- Scale web experience systems and foundations to support product usage and AI adoption while maintaining reliability, quality, and usability.
- Standardize engineering patterns through code reviews, design discussions, mentorship, and collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams.
- Partner with engineering and product leadership on high-leverage initiatives and technical tradeoffs.
- Promote Samsara’s cultural principles across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years building software with strong programming and design fundamentals.
- 4+ years working on large-scale distributed systems.
- 4+ years leading technical projects across multiple teams.
- Experience with developer platforms, internal tooling, or CI/CD for a large engineering organization is preferred.
- Experience shipping work with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or custom agents is preferred.
- Strong skills in Go, Python, TypeScript, or a similar language are preferred.
- A track record of measurably improving engineering speed, deployment ease, and developer experience is preferred.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and align teams without formal authority is preferred.
