Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and enhance software for projects focused on product functionality, performance, and efficiency.
- Apply development tools and technologies while debugging software and maintaining code quality.
- Partner with a mentor to define project objectives, establish key results, and deliver measurable technical outcomes.
- Collaborate with experienced software engineers and technical experts across Nutanix Engineering and R&D teams.
- Build solutions involving areas such as distributed systems, storage, database engines, hypervisors, platform deployment, or Linux kernel development.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled full time in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, System Administration, or a related technical field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Experience with backend or data-centric programming and coursework in at least two of operating systems, parallel programming, distributed systems, or database management systems.
- Fluency in at least one of Java, C++, Python, or Golang.
- Strong problem-solving skills and interest in complex technical problems.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa or work permit sponsorship.
- Ability to work from the San Jose office at least three days per week.
