Base Salary

$160k - $287k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and development of software supporting Akamai’s global connectivity platform.
  • Drive software-defined automation to eliminate operational toil and improve network infrastructure reliability.
  • Establish telemetry and observability systems for real-time monitoring of global network traffic and security services.
  • Champion software engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines, and SDLC standards across architecture and engineering teams.
  • Guide capacity planning and cost optimization across distributed routing, network fabric, and edge security systems.
  • Mentor engineering teams across the organization.

Requirements

  • Have 15 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have 10+ years of experience in network and software engineering.
  • Demonstrate expert proficiency in Python, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Source of Truth platforms.
  • Show expertise in large-scale IP routing and network fabric architectures.
  • Have experience designing cloud-native infrastructure, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code deployment frameworks.
  • Adapt to evolving requirements and lead effectively in a changing environment.
