Responsibilities
- Architect and govern an enterprise observability framework for metrics, logs, traces, and events using IBM Instana, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Telegraf, and InfluxDB.
- Lead FOAK observability implementations and convert emerging technologies into secure, repeatable, production-ready patterns.
- Define telemetry-pipeline, data-retention, high-cardinality, observability-cost, SLI, SLO, and error-budget standards.
- Lead P1/P2 incident war rooms, root-cause analysis, event correlation, dynamic-threshold initiatives, dependency mapping, and reliability improvements.
- Drive Observability-as-Code and infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and Bash.
- Automate monitoring-agent and telemetry-collector deployment, configuration, and self-healing workflows.
- Integrate observability platforms with ServiceNow, Netcool, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Design observability across Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, and AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Lead knowledge-transfer programs, vendor transitions, operational-readiness handovers, and global 24x7 team enablement.
- Mentor engineering teams and influence enterprise technology roadmaps.
Requirements
- 12+ years of total IT experience.
- 5 to 7 years functioning as a Lead Architect, SRE, or Principal Observability Engineer in a massive enterprise environment.
- Proven experience migrating organizations from legacy monitoring to proactive, automated observability platforms.
- Hands-on expertise building scalable, secure telemetry pipelines and time-series databases.
- Extensive experience leading FOAK rollouts and complex vendor or operations-transition programs.
- Preferred certifications include CKA, AWS or Azure Cloud Architect, and APM or observability vendor certifications.
