Responsibilities
- Strengthen AI enablement foundations and accelerate adoption of agentic workflows within engineering teams.
- Own the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation of software components within the engineer’s domain.
- Contribute durable system architecture aligned with ecobee’s broader enterprise standards.
- Deliver maintainable code and debug complex stack-wide issues across mobile devices and cloud-based services.
- Evaluate technologies and frameworks, drive engineering process improvements, and propose solutions to future technical challenges.
- Mentor engineers and lead or participate in design reviews, post-mortems, code reviews, and cross-team technical discussions.
- Facilitate inclusive decision-making and cross-functional buy-in across squads and domains.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex, cross-domain projects at scale.
- Experience building agentic workflows in large-scale systems.
- Expertise in system design, architecture, and large-scale, high-availability, secure systems.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including Go, Java, TypeScript, C++, and Python.
- Expertise with messaging queue processing such as PubSub, RabbitMQ, or Kafka and with real-time data handling.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
- Experience optimizing database performance and tuning systems for fast, reliable, scalable application interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex stack-wide issues across multiple environments and implement long-term fixes.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, lead technical discussions, and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
- The hired candidate must complete a background check.
