Senior Software Engineer, Payments
WonderschoolResponsibilities
- Consolidate and refactor a payments system built from legacy integrations.
- Build and maintain integrations across banking, debit cards, Stripe, SAP, partner advances, payroll, and the billing platform.
- Own orchestration, tracking, and reconciliation across third-party fintech partners.
- Design payment systems for correctness and comply with laws and regulations governing payments and financial services.
- Work directly with customers to understand real-world failure modes and edge cases.
- Partner daily with product to build, ship, measure, and iterate.
Requirements
- Strong payments background with real experience building payment systems and integrations.
- Fintech experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort designing systems where correctness is critical.
- Comfort with the regulatory landscape around payments, banking, and cards.
- Strong finance background is a plus.
- Willingness to work on a small team, move quickly, and work directly with customers.
- Ability to use AI tools and independently solve problems.
