Base Salary

$136k - $204k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design automation frameworks to validate and certify vendor-agnostic network operating systems through feature validation, traffic profiling, regression testing, and customer-use-case simulation.
  • Lead the design and implementation of the Environment-as-a-Service platform and migrate physical lab infrastructure to scalable, containerized, software-defined environments using Containerized Network Functions.
  • Define provisioning roadmaps and enable self-service virtual network topologies for development and QA teams.
  • Build reusable platform tooling and automation frameworks using Python, Go, and Elixir.
  • Manage and debug Kubernetes clusters and deploy services using ArgoCD.
  • Develop cloud-native applications and internal web applications providing visibility and control over the EaaS and automation platforms.
  • Define monitoring standards, dashboards, intelligent alerting strategies, and SLI/SLO frameworks.
  • Design network infrastructure spanning OSI Layers 1–3 and develop test plans and certification strategies for multi-vendor environments.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on BGP, MPLS, VXLAN, EVPN, ISIS, OSPF, and related networking protocols.
  • Support vendor evaluations, feature-gap analyses, and network hardware and network operating system selection.
  • Design and develop an MCP server and AI chatbot interface for EaaS and improve agentic workflows.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, participate in code reviews, and establish guardrails for AI-generated code.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in network engineering and automation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OSI layers and hands-on routing and switching experience in multi-vendor, large-scale environments.
  • Deep proficiency with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VXLAN, EVPN, L3VPN, L2VPN, CNF, VNF, SR-IOV, and DPDK.
  • Strong Python programming skills, including pytest and asynchronous programming; familiarity with Go and Elixir is preferred.
  • Understanding of REST API design, GraphQL, gRPC, OpenConfig/YANG, NETCONF, RESTCONF, and gNMI.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, and cloud-native application patterns.
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock and AWS networking services including VPC, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
  • Deep familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Tempo, and OTEL.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, AI-generated code review, and AI/ML-powered developer tools is relevant to the role.
