Responsibilities
- Generate AI/ML ideas, design and implement experiments, and evaluate results
- Prepare, submit, and present research at AI conferences and workshops
- Design experiments and deliver clear, actionable technical reports to internal teams
- Collaborate with researchers, silicon engineers, and software engineers to define, build, and test next-generation AI hardware
Requirements
- Master’s, PhD, or equivalent experience in a technical discipline such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, or chemistry
- Python programming experience with a modern deep learning framework such as PyTorch or JAX
- Understanding of deep learning fundamentals, including models, optimization, evaluation, and scaling
- Ability to design, execute, and report on machine learning experiments
- Lower-level programming experience for hardware efficiency, such as C++, CUDA, or Triton
- Practical familiarity with hardware capabilities for deep learning, including threads, caches, vector and matrix engines, data dependencies, bus widths, and throttling
- Practical familiarity with deep learning software stacks, including compilation, kernel fusion, XLA and ATen operations, streams, and asynchronous execution
- Mathematics skills in calculus, probability theory, and linear algebra are desirable
- Experience submitting papers to international scientific conferences or workshops is desirable
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available
