Responsibilities
- Develop machine learning and signal-processing models for detecting, classifying, and reasoning about RF signals in congested and contested spectrum.
- Research self-supervised representation learning, deinterleaving, emitter identification, mode recognition, and anomaly detection.
- Read and reimplement research papers, evaluate their robustness, and prototype methods on real recorded data.
- Deploy models to edge and embedded hardware and optimize them for latency, compute, and deployment constraints.
- Own projects end to end, including monitoring deployed systems and iterating based on real-world behavior.
- Collaborate with ML, RF, hardware, and customer-facing operational teams and communicate research clearly to varied audiences.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent research track record in machine learning, signal processing, physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Publications at NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ICASSP, or similar venues.
- Experience shipping non-trivial machine learning into a real product rather than working only in notebooks.
- Experience with irregular and noisy sequence data, temporal models, self-supervised or contrastive methods, and calibration under distribution shift.
- Strong Python programming skills and willingness to learn Rust.
- Ability to assess research results critically, reimplement papers, and communicate research to ML peers, RF engineers, and end users.
- Nice-to-have experience with electronic warfare, SIGINT, ESM/ELINT, RWR, or radar concepts.
- Nice-to-have familiarity with RF signal theory, including modulation, propagation, and antenna patterns.
- Nice-to-have experience deploying ML to edge or embedded hardware using ONNX, TensorRT, quantisation, and profiling on constrained GPUs.
Benefits
- Competitive salary and VSOP options.
- Relocation support of up to €2,500 plus four weeks of temporary accommodation.
- Annual learning allowance of €500/£450.
- Gym membership and mental health support through Nilo.health.
- Regular company events and monthly social allowances.
- Enhanced parental leave of 22 weeks fully paid for primary caregivers and six weeks for secondary caregivers.
- Five days of paid family emergency leave, a 100% remote work option during pregnancy, and phased return to work.
- Additional benefits may be available depending on location.
