Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and own scalable, secure LLM-integrated systems for scientific and business processes.
- Build platform components for telemetry, observability, governance, cost management, model routing, and efficient model use.
- Develop context management, MCP tool-use, skill tooling, RAG, and agentic infrastructure for research workflows.
- Build testing and evaluation frameworks for probabilistic systems, including task-specific model evaluations.
- Develop internal agentic coding and workflow frameworks and IDE integrations.
- Support model fine-tuning and reinforcement-learning efforts with AI researchers.
- Partner with researchers and business teams to translate scientific needs into technical AI specifications and LLM-based use cases.
Requirements
- Strong Python coding skills focused on production-grade, maintainable systems.
- Ability to architect and maintain complex cloud systems with infrastructure-as-code while considering security, user experience, and scalability.
- Deep understanding of how LLMs are trained, how they work internally, and their limitations.
- Experience with LLM serving stacks such as vLLM for open-weight models.
- Experience evaluating probabilistic ML systems and managing model tool use, contexts, and loops.
- Excellent stakeholder management and ability to explain technical risks to non-experts.
- Preferred: experience building and scaling LLM-centered systems.
- Preferred: experience setting up hardware or orchestration for ML systems.
- Preferred: experience building and deploying systems on Google Cloud.
- Preferred: interest or experience in biology, chemistry, or drug discovery.
- Preferred: familiarity with agentic tooling and developer frameworks.
