Responsibilities
- Architect and implement secure, scalable LLM-integrated systems for scientific and business workflows.
- Build telemetry, observability, governance, cost-management, model-routing, and platform components.
- Develop context management, MCP tool-use, skill tooling, RAG, and agentic infrastructure.
- Create evaluation frameworks and maintain evaluations for probabilistic systems, reliability, and safety.
- Develop internal agentic tooling, coding-workflow frameworks, IDE integrations, and user experiences.
- Support model fine-tuning and reinforcement-learning efforts with AI researchers.
- Partner with researchers and business teams to translate needs into LLM-based technical solutions.
Requirements
- Strong Python coding skills focused on production-grade, maintainable systems.
- Ability to architect and maintain complex cloud systems using infrastructure as code across security, user experience, and scalability concerns.
- Deep understanding of how LLMs are trained, how they work internally, and their limitations.
- Experience with LLM serving stacks such as vLLM for open-weight models.
- Experience evaluating probabilistic ML systems and managing model tool use, contexts, and loops.
- Experience building and scaling systems centered around large language models is preferred.
- Experience setting up hardware or orchestration for ML systems is preferred.
- Experience building and deploying systems on Google Cloud is preferred.
- Interest or experience in biology, chemistry, or drug discovery is preferred.
- Familiarity with current agentic tooling and developer frameworks is preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to explain technical risks to non-experts.
