Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize low-level C++ code for JVM runtime components and distributed client-server communication.
- Lead complex technical projects from design through production while managing ambiguity, priorities, and constraints.
- Contribute to technical direction through design discussions, technical reviews, and cross-team initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers through reviews, pairing, and practical guidance.
- Identify and adopt AI-first workflows that improve productivity, code quality, and development processes.
- Debug, profile, and analyze the root causes of complex software issues.
- Develop comprehensive tests and demonstrate performance improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience writing low-level, high-performance C++ code.
- Knowledge of VM and compiler runtime design and implementation; JVM internals familiarity is highly desirable.
- Ability to independently lead and deliver complex technical projects.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team technical culture and practices.
- Strong knowledge of memory management, pointers, concurrency, and multithreading.
- Experience with debuggers, profilers, and performance analysis tools.
- Understanding of hardware architectures such as x86 and ARM and operating system internals such as Linux and macOS is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Java or Rust is advantageous.
