Responsibilities

Build and scale Java backend systems for real-time sports data, live match feeds, commentary, video streams, and fan engagement.
Design event-driven microservices and optimize RESTful APIs for high concurrency and large live audiences.
Own technical execution within engineering delivery squads, including architecture, task planning, release deployments, and code quality.
Mentor fellow engineers, guide technical development, and promote Java best practices through technical guilds and working groups.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Data Engineers, Frontend Developers, and external data providers.
Optionally provide line management, performance reviews, one-to-one support, career mapping, and Chapter or Guild leadership.

Proven expertise with Java 17+ and strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring 5+.
Deep experience with JPA/Hibernate and relational databases using SQL.
Hands-on experience designing and building microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
Mastery of Git workflows and Jira for task management.
Commitment to comprehensive unit testing, technical documentation, clean code, and maintainable production software.
Competence with Kafka or similar message brokers, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS products, Maven, and continuous integration pipelines.
Understanding of Python scripting and web basics including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Strong technical communication, ownership, mentoring, and technical leadership capabilities.
