
Software Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, and Controls

Base Salary
$160k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement guidance and navigation software within commercial software frameworks.
- Support airframe design activities.
- Integrate software with flight hardware and support system integration.
- Develop real-time embedded software with hardware interfaces.
- Integrate vendor-provided low-level drivers and firmware.
- Collaborate with a small engineering team and work with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional object-oriented software development experience.
- Experience designing and implementing guidance algorithms for UAS platforms using commercial autopilot frameworks such as ArduPilot.
- Practical understanding of fixed-wing and rotary-wing flight dynamics.
- Extensive experience developing software for STM32 or similar microcontrollers and Linux hosted on Nvidia Jetson, AMD/Xilinx SoC, or MicroBlaze architectures.
- Experience with real-time embedded software, hardware interfaces, vendor-provided drivers and firmware, and software integration.
- Ability to work with Agile lifecycle processes including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development methodologies.
- U.S. Person status is required to access U.S.-only data systems.
- Preferred qualifications include a current or prior DoD security clearance, Part 107 remote pilot certification, EO/IR or radar sensor integration, VHDL and AMD/Xilinx FPGA development, Git, production-level software deployment, DevOps or DevSecOps, high-TRL systems, and hardware/software integration, testing, and verification.
