Responsibilities
- Perform subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, subsystem and system integration, and testing.
- Participate in software requirements, preliminary and critical design, integration readiness, and software acceptance reviews.
- Research problems and develop software solutions in a collaborative team environment.
- Support the continued development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy’s Aegis Weapons System.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field, or equivalent related work experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in real-time mission-critical development, maintenance, or support in open/layered architecture environments, operating environments, model-based tools, information assurance, tools development, safety analysis, real-time system data analysis, problem analysis, or system integration.
- Experience with object-oriented design and development, design patterns, software insulation techniques, and plugins.
- Experience developing software with Java, C++, or Python.
- Experience with Windows, Solaris, and Linux environments and with Solaris or other Unix scripting.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office and integrated development environments such as Eclipse; familiarity with UML syntax and driver-based and automated test environments.
- Experience with ClearCase, JIRA, xUnit Framework, JUnit, CPPUnitLite, CMMI Level 5 life-cycle processes and procedures, or assemblers is a plus.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance or other authorization is required.
