Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture for Technology & Innovation initiatives spanning infrastructure, platforms, cloud, integration, databases, and custom software.
- Design and document solution architecture artifacts, including HLA/HLD documentation, for infrastructure modernization and custom application builds.
- Architect cloud-based and hybrid hosting environments, including servers, networks, load balancing, security controls, and performance optimization.
- Support server migrations, application re-hosting, operating system upgrades, lifecycle transitions, and re-platforming.
- Lead database migration, optimization, and legacy database modernization strategies.
- Design enterprise integration patterns involving APIs, microservices, middleware, messaging, event-driven architectures, ESB, and GraphQL.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, infrastructure, business, and third-party teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
- Lead or support technology pilots, hackathons, emerging-technology experiments, and rapid architectural prototyping.
- Act as Technical Design Authority for assigned Technology & Innovation projects.
- Identify technology gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities and contribute to future-state architecture vision.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a related Technology & Innovation field; experience in a similar industry is highly preferred.
- Broad solution architecture experience across infrastructure, platforms, cloud, integration, and custom software development.
- Experience with on-premise hosting, data center operations, server migration planning, load balancing, failover, backup and disaster recovery, and hybrid environments.
- Strong custom software background, including solution design, application architecture, and modern development frameworks.
- Experience with database migrations, optimization, and cross-platform transitions involving SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and related systems.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP, GraphQL, messaging queues, ESB, middleware, and event streaming.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, application modernization patterns, and SDLC practices.
- Understanding of C4, ArchiMate, system context modeling, IT governance, compliance, security frameworks, and operational standards.
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, containerization, virtualization, VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Virtual Machines, and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, and Python for automation and troubleshooting.
- Experience evaluating emerging technologies and conducting proofs of concept.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with project managers, business analysts, engineering leads, infrastructure teams, and partners.
- Knowledge of regulations and standards such as HIPAA.
