
Senior Mobile Engineer, BLE & Device Connectivity (iOS/Android)

Base Salary
$150k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development of native iOS and Android BLE device SDKs.
- Own connection reliability, data throughput, battery performance, pairing, reconnection, background operation, and streaming robustness across mobile devices and operating systems.
- Partner with the Devices team on firmware interfaces, GATT profiles, and device behavior.
- Expose device capabilities to React Native applications through clean, tested native modules.
- Own observability for device connectivity and use telemetry and field feedback to diagnose and resolve failure modes.
- Shape the roadmap and technical direction of the mobile platform.
- Build device support for EEG signal-quality validation and diagnostics for field troubleshooting.
Requirements
- 8+ years of mobile development experience.
- Extensive native iOS experience with Swift and/or Android experience with Kotlin.
- Hands-on production experience integrating BLE peripheral devices, including pairing or bonding, reconnection, background operation, and data throughput.
- Experience integrating sensors or streaming health data from wearables.
- A rigorous approach to reliability, edge cases, device fragmentation, and performance.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working collaboratively in an asynchronous environment.
- Preferred: production React Native applications or native modules for React Native or Expo.
- Preferred: TypeScript, React Native, Expo, and GitHub experience.
- Preferred: experience with medical devices, EEG, wearables, clinical trials, patients, regulated environments, or open-source mobile or BLE projects.
