Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, test, debug, and maintain Linux-based software for embedded networking and retransmission devices.
- Sustain and modernize OpenWrt firmware, including image configuration, custom package feeds, services, first-boot behavior, device configuration, and firmware build integration.
- Migrate existing capabilities to next-generation ARM-based hardware and an Alma Linux-based architecture.
- Support bootloader, kernel, board-support, cross-compilation, device configuration, and embedded Linux image-development activities.
- Develop Buildroot- and Linux-based image creation, packaging, provisioning, release, update, and deployment workflows.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and web-based device-management interfaces.
- Implement and troubleshoot networking capabilities including interface configuration, routing, DNS, DHCP, firewalling, Wi-Fi, cellular or modem integration, and secure communications.
- Create unit, integration, system, simulation, and hardware-connected tests.
- Maintain GitLab merge-request workflows, CI/CD pipelines, build validation, release engineering, and reproducible-build practices.
- Support secure software development, including vulnerability remediation, certificate handling, authentication and authorization, update integrity, dependency management, and CVE analysis.
- Create technical design, build, API, test, and operational documentation while collaborating with software, hardware, systems, cybersecurity, quality, and product teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least five years of relevant professional software-development experience.
- At least five years developing, integrating, testing, or sustaining software for Linux-based or embedded systems.
- Professional experience with Python, Bash or shell scripting, and C or C++.
- Experience with Linux configuration, debugging, networking, package management, software deployment, cross-compilation, and embedded image creation.
- Experience developing and debugging software for ARM and/or Intel or x86 devices.
- Experience with embedded Linux build systems or distributions such as OpenWrt, Buildroot, or Yocto.
- Experience with Linux networking, REST APIs, device-management applications, or web-based configuration interfaces.
- Experience with Git and GitLab development practices, including merge requests, code review, and branching strategies.
- At least two years building, maintaining, or troubleshooting automated CI or CD pipelines.
- Experience creating software tests for Linux-based systems or embedded devices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain technical documentation.
- Preferred experience includes NXP i.MX8, ARM64/AArch64, U-Boot, Linux kernel configuration, device trees, board-support packages, OpenWrt package development, Alma Linux, RHEL, RPM, DNF, Kickstart, OSTree, SELinux, Flask, OpenAPI, Swagger, embedded networking, device provisioning, firmware updates, PKI, vulnerability scanning, SBOMs, Trivy, containerized builds, simulated environments, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and DoD or regulated embedded-device programs.
