Base Salary
$181k - $217k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own new backend services and APIs end-to-end.
- Contribute to frontend experiences that showcase the team’s services.
- Transform ambiguous problems into well-defined technical plans.
- Author design and architectural documents for alignment across teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand needs and deliver solutions.
- Ensure stability, performance, and scalability in designs.
- Mentor and grow other engineers through code review and technical leadership.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience designing and building reliable, large-scale backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language.
- Experience with greenfield development of new services or systems.
- Required experience with relational databases; NoSQL is a plus.
- Ability to write performant, maintainable, and clear code.
- Proven track record of taking ownership of projects.
- Experience authoring technical proposals and design documents.
- Ability to work across teams to understand business needs.
- Experience mentoring and guiding other engineers.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and formulating realistic plans.
- Willingness to learn new skills and share knowledge with the team.
