Responsibilities

  • Build, monitor, automate, and maintain sophisticated systems and software for Apple’s customer-facing satellite connectivity services.
  • Develop and deploy Linux-based applications that use network communication protocols.
  • Build and operate containerized, orchestrated cloud-native services using Kubernetes, Docker, and a major cloud platform.
  • Implement monitoring and observability for distributed systems using Prometheus, Alertmanager, and Grafana.
  • Design, debug, and optimize distributed systems for consistency, fault tolerance, performance, and resilience.
  • Automate repeatable infrastructure deployments and contribute to GitOps, service mesh, and CI/CD practices.
  • Participate occasionally in on-call rotations and drive root-cause analysis of systemic production issues.

Requirements

  • Experience building and deploying Linux-based applications with network communication protocols.
  • Proficiency with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker, plus experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Alertmanager, and Grafana and an understanding of distributed-system observability.
  • Understanding of distributed architectures, microservices patterns, and cloud-native environments.
  • Preferred experience with cloud-native 4G/5G core components or telecom payloads running in Kubernetes.
  • Preferred experience designing and debugging distributed systems at scale, including consistency, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
  • Preferred familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, GitOps workflows, service mesh technologies, and cloud-native development patterns.
  • Preferred experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for infrastructure automation.
  • Strong programming ability in at least one of Python, Go, or C++.
  • Preferred advanced knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment automation in cloud environments.
  • Ability to analyze service performance and system health, identify failure modes, and drive solutions to completion.
