Responsibilities
- Build, operate, harden, and continuously improve highly available Kubernetes infrastructure across hybrid cloud deployments.
- Perform capacity planning, launch reviews, postmortems, proactive outage prevention, and major-incident escalation.
- Design infrastructure solutions, maintain component standards, conduct proofs of concept, and evaluate technical feasibility.
- Automate operational work using infrastructure-as-code, scripting, software engineering, and delivery pipelines.
- Configure observability, including logging, metrics, monitoring, and symptom-based alerting.
- Mentor developers on creating and deploying cloud-native applications and promote DevOps practices.
- Provide technical leadership for projects, lifecycle initiatives, and proofs of concept while estimating resources, risks, dependencies, and timelines.
- Ensure solutions comply with Quality/Regulatory standards and the Technical Architecture Framework.
- Collaborate with architects, solution owners, vendors, IT partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Participate in a required 24/7 on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Without a degree, 4–7 years of relevant experience; with a bachelor’s degree, 2–5 years; or with a master’s degree, 1–3 years.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a multinational environment; healthcare experience is a plus.
- Strong hands-on experience managing and hardening Kubernetes clusters and containers, including distributed storage.
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash, Go, test automation such as pytest, and API deployment and management.
- Expertise implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Rundeck, or GitLab.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, routing, and service meshes.
- Experience configuring logging, metrics, monitoring, and symptom-based alerting.
- Experience with public cloud platforms, especially AWS services such as EKS, VPC, and IAM.
- Knowledge of Rancher or Portworx and a Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification are beneficial.
- Understanding of cloud-native systems, Technical Architecture Frameworks, Quality/Regulatory compliance standards, Scrum, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, collaboration, customer focus, and delivery focus.
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, communicate fluently in English, and work across multiple time zones.
