Responsibilities
- Take features from idea through planning, coding, testing, deployment, and production ownership using AI coding agents.
- Provide agents with context, direct their work, critically review their output, and remain accountable for software quality.
- Monitor, fix, and continuously improve shipped software after launch.
- Shape product specifications with Product and Design and advise on feasibility and trade-offs.
- Design and maintain scalable, reliable, secure, simple, and maintainable systems.
- Partner with engineers across teams to design integrations and deliver cross-system initiatives.
- Understand the operational environments supported by the software and identify failure points before customers do.
- Contribute to code reviews, design reviews, mentoring, and improvements to agentic engineering workflows.
Requirements
- 3 to 10+ years of software engineering experience with a record of shipping and operating production software.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools through the development lifecycle.
- Understanding of agentic development, including providing context, creating plans, and verifying generated output.
- Strong fundamentals in system design, data modeling, APIs, testing, and production debugging.
- Ability to work confidently with TypeScript, Node.js, React, Elixir, and Phoenix, or comparable experience in other languages.
- Ownership, follow-through, clear communication, and comfort turning ambiguous problems into shipped software.
- Commerce or supply chain experience is preferred, including checkout, payments, order management, notifications, returns, warehouse, or transportation systems.
- Experience shipping LLM-powered features, chat agents or assistants integrated with MCP servers, or 0-to-1 and legacy-platform migration projects is preferred.
- Experience with GCP, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redpanda, product-led companies, or open-source contributions is preferred.
